Request for Proposal

Request for Proposal (RFP) – is a formal document that sponsors or organizations send to potential contract research organizations (CROs) or service providers to solicit bids for specific research projects or services.

Purpose of RFP

Request for Proposal play its role in the outsourcing process by facilitating communication, transparency, and competition among potential vendors.

Structure of RFP

RFP may outline following requirements for a project:

  • objectives,
  • scope of work,
  • timelines,
  • budget, and other.

CRO or service providers then respond to the RFP with detailed proposals outlining how they would approach and execute the project, including their capabilities, expertise, timelines, and cost estimates. The sponsor evaluates the proposals received and selects the CRO or service provider that best meets their needs and requirements.
